About Jade

Jade's involvement with theatre began with amateur dramatics in the classic musical 'Annie' as Sandy the dog. Whilst Jade played fetch on her hands and knees she loved the excitement of being able to tell a story to an audience, no matter how many times they had seen it. She continued with Musicals and played a variety of parts. Some of her favorites include; Lowbutt in 'HONK!', The White Witch in 'The Lion the Witch and the Warbrode', Mrs. Kay 'Our Day Out', and Johanna in 'Sweeney Todd'. Outside of her Musical endeavor, Jade enjoyed classical and contemporary roles, be they man woman or beast. Some of the standout performances from Jade came from the characters of; Poor Tom/Edgar in 'King Lear', Olivia in 'Twelfth Night' and  Wendla in 'Spring Awakening'.  When Jade turned 16 she was offered the role 'Catherine Holly' in Suddenly Last Summer in a local black box studio performance, which she gleefully accepted! Her time as Catherine was an eye-opening experience as she had forgotten just how much she enjoyed to sink her teeth into a play, as well as a very complex character. Whilst finishing her higher education Jade worked in workshop theatres and played a variety of parts, such as;  Laura Lyons in 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', Sally Cheapside in 'Blackadder', Various roles in 'Wyrd Sisters', Molly Rivers in 'The Female of the Species' Laura in 'Nightmare' and Various Roles in 'Birdland'.

Jade was also involved with the debut of new writing company 'Mad Apple Collective', where she performed and directed new short plays in her hometowns new found Fringe Theatre.

During her time at University Jade also directed a small scale production titled 'As the Pendulum Swings', a new piece of writing targeting Bipolar Affective Disorder based on true events. The play had a sold-out debut in the Rose Theatre Studio in March 2018 and later on, went on to perform a short segment on the Main Stage of the Rose Theatre. By coincidence, Jade also directed this production, in association with Rapid Theatre and also performed Cynthia's monologue from 'Goodbye Charles' by Gabriel Davis.

Jade continued her lucky streak as she started originating the role of 'Norma' in the world premiere of 'Goodnight Sweetheart' the musical, weeks after she graduated. She enjoyed her time workshopping the performance and devising scenes with the director and becoming associated with iconic writer duo, Marks and Gran.

She then went on to touring productions within TIE [Touring in Education] and Pantomime, playing the loveable fool, Muddles.

Jade has just finished her season at Pontins, Prestatyn Sands Resort as a Bluecoat Vocalist in their 2019 Showteam. If you would like to know more, please do check out the Past Productions page on her website, which gives you more information on her new position.
